Man-Made Tiles Imitate Nature

PORCELAIN tiles and ceramic tiles are man made using very sophisticated manufacturing processes. They are generally distinguished by the type of clay or clay with the addition of feldspar utilized in making the bisque or body of the tile.

Porcelain TilesPorcelain tiles are fired at extremely high temperatures and sometimes pressed prior to firing with hydraulic devices, forcing the mixture together and squeezing out almost all water. This process ensures a very dense, strong, and highly desirable body or bisque on which glaze or color can be added, creating an endless variety of colors, patterns, and textures.

Color(s) are applied to the bisque by spraying, screening, or by a robotic non-repetitive, totally random process, ensuring no two are alike.

Durable & Care Free

Finally, the tiles are fired at extremely high temperature, which bonds the glaze to the bisque or body, resulting in a very durable and nearly maintenance free product suitable for any application.

Mosaic Porcelain TilesAvoid "Cheap" Imitations

Thousands of porcelain and ceramic tiles are manufactured throughout the world. Although all may have similar characteristics, unfortunately few convince the discerning eye of a successful copy of natural stone, marble, limestone, or hand painted tiles.

Generally the price of poor imitations is much lower than ones which have been created with highly technological and sophisticated manufacturing processes.
